This fun new mobile game from the experienced studio that brought us Vikings: Clash of Clans is becoming quite popular. Since a lot more players are joining, it’s only fair that we share a high-level Boom Beach strategy for different situations.
We’ll cover the best attack and defense strategies that help more advanced players dominate the game. Check out these Boom Beach tips and tricks to step up your game and start winning.
Boom Beach defensive strategy
Before you can attack, you need to learn to defend and keep your base running. Here are some great defensive strategies to try out.
Make finding and capturing resource bases a priority
It’s easy to overreach in this game and get stuck waiting for more resources before you can make any decisive moves.
It may not be as fun and exciting to look for resource bases as it is to attack other players, but it’s important.
Invest in your Radar and scout the map to find as many resource bases as you can and capture them to secure a steady flow of wood and ore. This will allow you to build up a strong force later on.
Use boats as “resource stashes” for emergencies
It can be tempting to just grab all the resources you can as soon as you can, but it’s not always the best strategy.
Boats can be used as a sort of an emergency resource stash for those dire moments where you’re low on supplies. They can be a real lifesaver in emergencies, so don’t collect these resources if you are doing fine already.
Use trees as cover for your defensive building
Even the best defenses can be overcome with the right strategy. However, when it comes to
brute force attacks, placing a defensive building behind a tree is a great way to reinforce it. This Boom Beach strategy doesn’t cost you anything and the trees actually provide a decent amount of additional cover.
It will take your enemies longer to get to and destroy your defenses and you’ll have more time to rain down mortar shells and rockets on their heads.
Space out your defenses
A lot of new players make the mistake of clustering all their defensive structures together or building a layered wall.
The problem with this approach is that a single enemy rocket will damage several of your structures at the same time. It will take a lot less time to mow down your defenses that way.
When there’s a bit of space between the structures in your base it becomes more difficult for anyone attacking. They have to go destroy one building at a time, which gives you more time to hit back. You can place mines in the space between buildings and even obscure them behind structures like higher-level Sniper Towers.
This way, the attacker will have a lot more ground to cover, more targets to focus on, and a bunch of sneaky mines to trip on.
Boom Beach attack strategy
Once you have a solid defense built up, you can start exploring and developing attack strategies. Here are the most important ones you need to know.
Simulate an attack
The worst part of planning to attack bases is that the outcome is uncertain. You don’t know how the enemy defenses are set up, you don’t know whether your units are powerful enough to get the job done, and you don’t know if your strategy is the right one.
Well, there’s a way to test out your enemies without losing your hard-earned units and wasting time. You just attack a base as you normally would, only this time you swipe down and turn on “Airplane Mode” just as the battle is beginning.
Make sure you time it right so that no units actually have a chance to engage with the enemy and take damage. This will make you lose connection and nothing from that point on will be saved. You are now free to try out an attack with literally no consequences.
Once you exit the game and load it up again, everything will be the way it was before you attacked. This allows you to adjust your strategy based on what you’ve learned.
Use your warriors decisively
You’ll need a level 7 Boom Beach Headquarters before you can get the Warrior unit, but it’s worth the wait. The Warrior is a classic high damage/low health unit, although he can regenerate hit points as he attacks.
Don’t just rush in with your Warriors guns blazing, make sure you have a beefier unit on the field first to soak up damage. A diversion attack combined with a shock bomb and smoke screen is a great way to set the stage for a Warrior onslaught.
Once the Warriors start mowing down everything in their path, make sure to heal them often and keep using Shock Boom and tanks for cover. If done right, this is the fastest way to run over an enemy base.
Wait until mercenary bases are high on resources before attacking
You can plunder the bases of other players, but don’t hit them with everything you’ve got as soon as you find them on the map. It’s best to keep checking on them and wait until they have amassed a substantial amount of resources. You can then attack full-force and get a nice little reward for your trouble.
That being said, the longer you wait the better prepared your enemies will be to fend off your attack. It’s all about finding that sweet spot just before they spend their resources on upgrades and units. That’s when they’ll have plenty of loot for you but won’t yet have the high-level units and defenses that they were saving up for.
Anyone who wants to go from a novice to an advanced player needs a good Boom Beach strategy.
It takes a bit of trial and error to get things just right, as you’ll often need great timing, but these tips will make you a lot better.
